Sonic the hedgehog

I've chosen this character of video games because it’s my favourite one. To my mind, he’s the most handsome and original, the coolest and the fastest character I have ever seen!

First, Sonic has been created in 1991 by Yuji Naka and Naoto Oshima at the beginning. After his first game “Sonic the hedgehog” became as famous as Mario because his game was the fastest game in the year! Since this year, a lot of Sonic’s games have been created up to now. He became so famous that his creators did comics, cartoons, films and by- product like toys, glass, clothes etc.

So, Sonic is a blue hedgehog. His eyes are green and he wears white gloves and white and red sneakers. He’s slightly different from a normal hedgehog; Sonic can talk and run fast. In fact he’s the fastest hedgehog! Sonic can turn into Super Sonic when he uses the seven chaos emeralds. He becomes a golden hedgehog and he is shining! With this power, Sonic is invincible! Sonic does what he wants, he likes freedom, adventures and helps people when they need him. He’s easy-going, honest and loyal with his friends but can also be impatient with things which are too slow.  

Next, in this type of game, you have to collect gold rings,and go through different stages to save the flickies (they are little birds) but take care of Robotnik’s robots! If they hit you, you will lose all your rings and if they hit you and you have any rings, you lose a life! In some games you’ve got a secret ending that you can have only if you’ve collected the seven chaos emeralds during the game.

It's the main hobby today in France and around the world, video games are in the 1^st position of hobbies among young people.

Having started playing at my youngest age, the game console was one of my favorite pastime, leisure activity.

It was in 1985 when the video games appeared, simple design like 2D platform, they developped to become sophisticated games on which we can play online with opponents anywhere in the world.

In 2002, the worldwide turnover exceeded that of the cinema, it is always growing today.

Since a few years, well-known events, like the “Paris games week” have happened, it’s a show room where new games are presented and where more than 200,000 people come each year.
