Let me talk about Hunger games, a trilogy.

I’ve chosen this subject because I am fond of it and because I would like to share it with other people.

First, “Hunger games” are 3 books written by Suzanne Collins. The story takes place in a post-apocalyptic future in Panem, the new name of the USA in the books. After a nuclear war, the USA are ravaged. Panem is divided into 12 parts called “districts” and Snow, the President, is at the head of the country. The heroine is Katniss, a girl who is 16 years old at the beginning of the story. She lives in the 12th district with her family.

Every year, some games are organized: the Hunger Games.
The contestants are drawn lots. Then, they are in a big arena in the nature. Here, they must survive and stay alive the longest time as possible and the latest.

But one day, Prim, Katniss’s sister is drawing lots. But Katniss, who loves her sister so much, says: “
I’ll substitute to my sister!”

Then, Hunger Games is meeting with success in France and in the USA.

Finally, a movie adapted from the books will be on the screens on the 21st of March in France.

I’ve chosen this film because it’s one of my favorite films. The script is very interesting but the film is a little too long (about 1h40).

Avatar is an American science fiction film which was produced in December, 2009 by James Cameron. The story takes place in the future, on Pandora near another planet named Polypheme, planets imagined by the film-maker.

Pandora and polypheme :

Human beings want to go to this planet to collect an energy which is called the unobtanium. To do so, they have to destroy a tree which makes the native people, called Na’vi, live. So, human beings are going to be transformed into Na’vi to be part of the population and to be able to negotiate more easily.

In the middle of the film, Jerry Sully, one of the main characters, begins to have feelings towards this native population; so, he’s going to try to stop the humans.   

The film has been profitable (more than 2 billion dollars of profit). It’s also one of the first films to be in 3-D. Mr. Cameron said that he had enough ideas to make a trilogy on the same theme of Avatar. I’m looking forward to watching that.

I’m going to talk about my favourite singer : Kanye West. I think his songs are great because they make you dance, sing and feel good!

First, Kanye West is an American rapper, singer and record producer who was born on June, 8th 1977, and who grew up in Chicago (so he is 34 years old).  His father, Ray West was a member of the Black Panthers group, and his mother was an English teacher at the University of Chicago.

Then, he began his career in 1996, but after being known in 1998 with the album of Jermaine Dupri “Life in 1472”,he became the beatmaker of artists of the Roc-A-Fella Records label (like Jay-Z).

After that, Kanye West worked with a lot of other singers, like Ludacris, Scarface,  Alicia Keys, Janet Jackson, John Legend, or Kid Cudi ( he produced several of them ). In 2004, he made his first album : The College Dropout, followed by Late Registration’ (2005), “Graduation” (2007), “808s and Heartbreak “ (2008), “My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy” (2010) and “Watch the Trone” with Jay-Z (2011). I personally have the two last ones and I think they are r-e-a-l-l-y good!

Next, he also founded his own label, called GOOD music, in 2004.

First, I’ve decided to choose this book entitled ' Stolen, a letter to my captor' and written by Lucy Christopher because I was really impressed, I’ve never read a book like this before. It takes place in the Australian Outback.

When you read this story you become Gemma a sixteen-year-old girl who is kidnapped during her holidays by a young man named Ty. He steals her and takes her away from London to Australia.

However, Ty is an unusual captor : he’s like a model, he wants to save Gemma from the life in the city and he has spied her for 10 years ! But above all he loves her. At first, Gemma wants to escape, to die, she is desperate. Unfortunately, they are in the middle of the desert and no one lives for hundred miles around. She can’t escape. So, she gets used to it and to her captor. Ty has grown up in the desert, so he taught her a lot of things. The desert is like a character in the book, you can feel the Australian sun on your skin. Ty does a lot of mistakes but he isn’t really mean. He never tries to hurt Gemma. There is a strange relationship between them. The readers can’t hate Ty even if he does really bad things. It looks kike  Stockholm syndrome (= when hostages have positive feelings towards their captors).

At the end, a venomous snake bites Gemma and she must go to hospital. Ty rides her to the nearest town on a camel. Gemma is almost dead, she says she wants Ty to stay with her. Finally, the police sends him to jail but Gemma doesn’t want to go back to London.
The book is a letter written by Gemma to Ty.
You can’t forget this book.

One quote : ‘Lets face it, you did steal me. But you saved my life too. And somewhere in the middle, you showed me a place so different and beautiful, I can never get it out of my mind. And I can't get you out of there either. You're stuck in my brain like my own blood vessels.’

I have practiced athletics for 6 years. My club is EFSRA.

First I'll talk about the club and athletes who are famous for their performances.
The club was founded in 1984 by the fusion of two clubs : "Family Club Rémois" and "Stade de Reims Athlétisme". 

In this club, there are athletes who have a very good level such as Yohann Diniz who  is the world champion in walking 
(he has the world record distance on the track  with a time of 3h35min27sec)

and Eunice Barber who, in February 1999, took part in World Athletics Championship and won the gold medal in the heptathlon. 
In 2003, she jumped 6.99m, therefore she became the Olympic champion of long jump.

Then, I'll talk about my records.

In athletics I practice long jump and sprint. 

I make about 12 competitions a year; this is why I practice long jump and sprint twice a week.
I love running  ! For a long time, I’ve wanted to go to Olympic Games. Nevertheless I know it’s only a dream !
My record when I run 50m is 7'16, and when I run100m, it's 13'21.
I'm also fond of long jumping. My record is 4m73!
